Why Burress made the fatal error when playing New England.

Ladies and gentlemen, the Super Bowl has been decided. Your 2007-2008 champions - The New England Patriots. New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress has committed the fatal mistake when matching up against the Patriots: he gave them bulletin board material. The Patriots are a team that thrives on the spoken word against them. The culprit this time? Burress told a group of reporters that he believes the Giants wide receivers are better than the Patriots deep and varied group of wideouts. Umm, ok Plaxico. First of all, I remember when I watched you every week on the Pittsburgh Steelers. You are a me-first player who always wants to be in the spotlight. We got rid of you and wallah! - we won a Super Bowl. Comparing the Giants wideouts to the Patriots is like comparing the popularity of the bowling team to the Varsity football squad - they just do not compare. Randy Moss is a taller, more athletic version of Burress. Both are hot heads and “me-first” players, so Moss’s athletic abilities give him the edge. Amani Toomer is a solid player, but had the most drops of any season in his career this year, while Donte Stallworth is incredibly hard to tackle and is fantastic when running after the catch. Steve Smith has played well, but he is a rookie, while Wes Welker had 112 catches and is the Patriots outlet whenever a play breaks down. He also has the heart of a lion and should never be underestimated. Burress should have just kept his mouth shut because the Patriots thrive off of bulletin board material, which is exactly why Burress has walked his team down the plank before the game has even started.
