How will marketing the “Dark Knight” be handled due to the passing of Heath Ledger?
On Tuesday, Heath Ledger passed away with no known cause of death announced yet. The actor had just finished filming his role as “The Joker” in the upcoming Dark Knight installment of the Batman series.
I am interested in seeing how marketing for this movie is handled now that one of the main stars of the film has passed away. The producers of the film initially planned on using “The Joker” as the main draw for the film, however, will they still choose to do so now that Heath has passed away? What makes the decision more perplexing is the fact that Heath’s character is a maniacal and twisted killer. If I were making the decision, I would go forward with the initial plans and use Heath’s character to promote the film. The man was an actor, so I feel it is in good taste to use his work as the centerpiece of marketing the last film he will ever be a part of. Even though his character may be sick and twisted, it goes to show the quality of the work that he did. In any event, it is truly sad that this decision even has to be made.

@Sad: Indeed very sad - do you think you would still market his character for the movie as much now that he has passed?
