Random musing of the day

As I was driving today, I was passed and viciously cut off by an SUV going 80 MPH on a 50 MPH road. The irony of the situation?  The maniac driver’s vehicle had a “baby on board” sticker plastered boldly on their trunk window.  I thought that usually meant that the driver was careful and protective of their child?

Only in America can a prostitute involved in a major sex scandal with an important public figure become rich and famous because of it.  Ashley Youmans (or Alexandra Dupre -whatever she goes by today) stands to make millions off of her now very public romp with client #9.  Adult magazines, movies, record labels will all come calling because of her infamous name.  These businesses don’t necessarily care about ethics, they care about what sells.  Sex sells - especially when it involves a scandal.  The (more…)

Students getting paid to study…WHAT?

As I was browsing the newswires yesterday, I came across an article discussing a new program schools in America are promoting: a “Learn and Earn” program. Are you kidding me? The decline of quality news reporting in America

A few days back as I was doing my usual rounds on the web, checking the scores from the night before and reading the news, I came across something that startled me on CNN.com’s homepage. What was it? Live updates of Britney Spear’s child custody hearing taking place in California. Is this what America is coming to? Since when has Britney Spear’s ongoing inability to live a normal life become “headline” news for CNN? I find it absolutely ridiculous (more…)
